I’ve been looking for a pair of gold boots for ages, ever since I saw a super cool pair from Marc by Marc Jacobs more than 3 years ago and didn’t buy them. Having not been able to find the perfect pair, I decided to have a go at making my own. This is the perfect project for Autumn / Winter as the weather cools down and you can wear them without worrying about having hot feet!
– a pair of ankle boots
– gold spray paint (non toxic of course)
– masking tape
1. Use the masking tape to carefully tape off the heels so that none of the spraypaint gets on them.
2. Stuff the inside of the boots with paper or used plastic bags to protect the insides from paint.
3. In a well ventilated space lay some paper and give the boots a couple of coats of gold paint, making sure to do light layers so the paint doesn’t pool on the surface.
4. Leave to dry overnight.
And there you go – I love mine to death and have been wearing them with mini skirts, my favourite block colour jeans and just about everything else. I hope you have a go at making your own. Have a lovely weekend!
