A Quick Guide To LA

A recent whirlwind trip to LA saw me dipping my toes into this amazing, huge, virtually unfathomable city. Now let me say to start, 4 days is just not enough in such a diverse and enormous city, but armed with a few tips from local friends, I definitely gave it a good shot! This is definitely a very quick guide,Ā but i wanted to share with you the things I did and liked this time around. Enjoy!

A Quick Guide To LA

I stayed at The Line hotel which was great (although v noisy in the lower levels), but would also look about staying at The Ace, The Standard and even The Beverley Hills hotel (if I felt like splashing out on a bit of old school glamour).

Head to The Broad gallery (make sure to head there early or buy tickets).

HikeĀ up to the Griffith Observatory (uber down).

Spend a day in Silverlake – there are about 4-5 blocks along Sunset Blvd in Silver Lake, with lots of great cafes, restaurants and shops includingĀ Intelligensia, Night Market + Song and SquirlĀ for eats and ReForm School, Mohawk General Store and Clare Vivier.

Check out the storeĀ Alchemy Works Ā (they have a taco tuck 10 – 2 on Friday’s)

Buy all the dresses at theĀ Reformation store.

Have a window show at The Apartment by The Line.

Get your nails did at gorgeous salon Olive & June.

Have dinner/rooftop drinks at The Ace.

Have a delicious breakfast at Squirl, don’t leave without buying some of theirĀ famous jam.

Head to Egg Slut in Grand Central Market – lots of other amazing places to eat here too.

Have a healthy lunch at Cafe Gratitude.

Wander the shops on Abbott Kinney Ā (a street in Venice), stopping by Salt & Straw and having dinner at Gjelina’s, if you can get in!

Good to Know

You’re going to need to either hire a car or get well acquainted with your uber app.
