Hey guys, is anyone ready for a cocktail yet? I know I am.
Thursday’s not too early in the week for cocktail hour is it? I should hope not. Thanks so much to those of you who shared all about your favourite cocktails last week, it was so insightful and it gave us soooo many ideas about what we want to make for you guys in the future. It’s almost the silly season and we can’t wait :). Today we’re going to share with you a fresh cocktail that’s guaranteed to get your weekend started early… A champagne lemon drop. Enjoy!
Champagne Lemon Drop Cocktail
As you guys know, I absolutely love cocktails that are deliciously fresh with a good balance of sweetness and tartness. This is one of those drinks…. our take on the traditional Lemon Drop cocktail – usually consumed as a shot… But we thought it might be nice to linger a little longer over this deliciousness. We hope you agree!
Ingredients
- One lemon
- One shot of vodka (we used Absolut)
- A teaspoon of sugar syrup or honey, or more to taste.
- Half a cup of champagne (we used Perrier Jouét)
- Ice
- A cocktail shaker
- Lemon rind to garnish
Method
- 1. Cut your lemons in half.
- 2. Juice them.
- 3. Add a tablespoon to a shaker over ice.
- 4. Add the vodka and the sugar syrup.
- 5. Shake well.
- 6. Pour over ice in a short glass or champagne glass.
- 7. Top with champagne.
Enjoy!
You definitely should try this cocktail next time you’re feeling like a really refreshing drink. Which is, incidentally for me, right now! Happy Thursday guys!
