Perfect for your front door, mantle or Christmas tree.
You know that I absolutely love bows at Christmas time. Like these beaded bow ornaments or this bow Christmas tree! Well, recently I made these huge bows out of some old pillows and pillowcases and couldnāt wait to share it. Who else is leaning into bow decor this festive season?

Materials
- Pillow case and matching flat sheet (this is standard size)
- An old pillow
- Hot glue gun or sewing machine
- Scissors
For the project, you could do it by sewing all the required elements, I actually did that for the pink and striped on show here, but for the main red one I used a hot glue gun.
How to Make a Large Festive Bow!
1
To start with, I found it helpful to remove some of the stuffing from the inside of the pillow to make it less fluffy. If your pillows are quite flat already (old pillows often are!) you can skip this step.
2
Then put the pillow inside the pillowcase and then glue (or sew) the pillow case shut.
3
Then find the centre of the pillow case and tie around it using some strips of the sheet, using two ties a few fingers apart. This creates the main part of our bow.
4
Now it is time to move onto the tails! Cut a long length of fabric from the matching sheet - this one was about 160cm x 50cm. Fold it in half and then sew or glue it together along the long edge.
5
Turn the tube of fabric inside out and then cut the ends off at an angle, then sew or glue them together.
6
Then cut a strip of fabric slightly wider than the width of the centre of the bow and iron the edges over to create clean edges.. This is what we will use to wrap the bow and tails together.
7
Secure the tail to the bow in the middle, using that strip by wrapping it around the tails and the centre of the bow. Use hot glue to attach a little hanger in the middle at the back.
