I’ve decided small, thoughtful gifts are my new love language, so I put together this little C.A.R.E tray for a friend for Christmas!
If you’re not familiar, earlier in the year, I started doing little trays at nighttime. I’d been trying to create a better wind-down for myself to switch off at night, so I decided to make it fun and create a nightly little tray, I called it a C.A.R.E tray (craft, a little treat, refreshment, episode). This has become my new ritual! It’s been helping me to put my phone down and relax before bed.
So I thought, what better gift than the gift of a bit of relaxation? To put this together I grabbed a cute tray and then I started with a thrifted glass, then added a handful of colourful beads and a keyring for a small DIY moment – because making something with your hands is such an underrated form of therapy! I tucked in two bottles of Dilmah’s Black Tea Elixir. It’s a tea concentrate and perfect for making cocktails and mocktails. To finish it off, I wrapped the tray with a soft fabric bow to tie everything together.

What I love about gifting something like this is that it feels thoughtful without having to go over the top. If you’re ever stuck on what to give someone, a care tray with a mix of practical, pretty and delicious things is the perfect answer. Honestly, I might need to start making these trays for everyone! If this becomes my entire personality moving forward, please don’t be surprised.
