Looking for a quick update to your party wardrobe? This asymmetric skirt might be just the ticket. A recent scan on a few of my favourite online shopping sites proved that the asymmetric hemline is going to be de rigour this season. LuckilyĀ they’re super easy to recreate yourself using something you probably already have in your closet.
Before & After: Quick Asymmetrical Skirt
You need
To create this project you need to find yourself a nice full skirt in a heavy fabric, you’ll also need scissors and a needle and thread / sewing machine.
How to
This little project needs barely any explaining – all you need to do to make it is lay it on a flat surface and use some chalk or a pencil to mark where you want to cut. Cut off the whole hemline and make sure to create aĀ smooth curve. If your fabric is the type that frays you’ll then need to hem the fabric using either bias binding or by rolling the hem twice and sewing down. The skirt was made out of a heavy felt fabric and after texting I found it din’t fray at all, so we skipped the hem which was perfect.
