Hey guys! An easy update to your bathroom coming right up…
Bath and door mats are usually ugly and tired old things that never fail to bring down the feel of (what you would like to be) an elegant, spa inspired experience. But instead of an off the rack mat, you can make your own using nothing but rope and a glue gun. I love this technique because it can be applied to rugs in all different shapes and sizes… Coil the rope for a round style, or go big for a living room or bedroom. The world is your rope wrapped oyster!
You need
- White cotton rope, 30 m long and 2cm thick
- Hot glue gun
- Glue sticks
- Scissors
How to
- The first thing you’ll want to do is cut all your rope pieces to size. I measured them up to 65 cm long each.
- Then, I started laying them side by side and running the glue gun down the sides, pushing the new rope piece up against the glue. Be mindful not to stretch the rope as you’re glueing them to each other.
Once you have done all the rope, cut off any odd ends and undo the edges of the rope to create a frayed edge effect
This project would also make a great front door mat!
