Happy 2017 guys! I hope you had an amazing NYE – filled with love and laughter. I’m here in Byron Bay for the next week, and trying to completely immerse myself in the lifestyle – yoga, swims, relaxing and also taking time out to plan the new year. Pity it’s just for a few more days.. But reality calls and soon I’ll be back to the hustle and bustle of the big city.
But in the meantime, in the spirit of taking it easy and keeping it simple at the start of a new year, and before I dive into January posts I’ve been thinking about for a while (I’m a sucker for resolutions, plans and creativity hacks), I wanted to share with you a simple and effective DIY project that pretty much anyone can achieve – and one that works for both colder and more moderate climates. This simple bow sweater is (for me anyway) the epitome of a DIY that looks great with minimal effort. Enjoy!
DIY Bow Back Sweater
You’ll also need a sweater, we got ours from a thirst store.
1
Cut down the centre back, stopping about 10cm from the neckline (so basically, just make sure you don't cut all the way through to the top).
3
Cut the ribbon in half to make two 1m long lengths (adjust this length depending on how big or small you want your bow). Fold over the ends about 1cm and pin to hold in place, this will help you create a clean edge when you sew it onto the back of the sweater in the next step.
4
Using the ends you folded in Step 3, place a length of ribbon on either side of the slit at waist position and 5cm away from the edge. Sew into place and you're done!
Looking forward to sharing plans and resolutions for 2017 this week! xxx

This is such a cute DIY. I’m really into bows at the minute and I definitely have a couple of jumpers that could use some TLC – thanks!

I am loving bows too! And by doing it on a darker coloured knit it’s the perfect mix of feminine and more casual. x
