Yeah yeah it’s getting to that time of year again, when holiday style starts popping onto your radar (read: is everywhere and you can’t escape it) and naturally you’ll be wantingĀ to invest in a few special pieces that’ll inspire some amazing, life changing parties this season. Also: hangovers. Chances are you’ll be stocking up on one or two fun dresses, and would probably love to add a pair of party heels to that cart too right? If finances don’t quite stretch to all of the above, never fear, you can party-fy your heels with a few simple steps. Read on for how to create a simple pair of bow heels, Ā similar to the DIY scalloped heels from last year, these are greatĀ because you can take the embellishments on and off as you please.
I created this project for Who What Wear Australia, and thought I would share it with you too!
Make These Easy Bow Party Heels
You need:
- Strappy heels
- Two bow ties (we bought ours from a two dollar store)
- A skewer or plyers
How to:
1. Cut the straps off the bow ties and open up the straps of your heels.Ā Open up the back of the cross strap of the bow tie with your fingers.
2. Slide the ankle strap of the heels through the back of the cross strap.
3. Close the straps on your heels and position the bows where you want them to sit – front, side or back all work well.
Voila! When wearing something super girly like these heels, I like to go for a more laid back and casual look for the rest of my outfit (don’t wanna look like minnie mouse..), like leather and denim. These would also look great with a pair of distressed jeans and a sequin blazer.
