There’s nothing better than a good wrapped style for your holiday wardrobe, something that’s versatile and both pulls you together bit is able to be loosened up when you want to relax. I’ve been wearing this style to death on the beach in Bali, and after a few of you asked I thought it was a great time to share the how to…
I’ve been really liking the idea of wrapped scarf tops recently, but sadly haven’t been able to find one long enough to wrap around enough times. I thought it was time to get a little crafty and make one myself. Crazy simple and you’ll wonder why you haven’t done this before!
DIY Fabric Wrapped Top
1
Cut off the selvedge from both sides of the fabric (about 1-2cm) to give yourself a clean raw edge. You're aiming to remove any of the frilly edges, bumps or holes which are often present in the selvedge.
2
Cut your fabric into roughly 30cm wide strips. For this piece of cotton, I simply folded it into four length wise and cut along the folds. You want to get about a good 4m in length of fabric in total.
3
Pin and sew the strips together, I used a french seam to prevent fraying (which you can find the tutorial to here) or you can use a normal seam too.
I hope you guys enjoy this really simple project, a great one to start on if you’re new to DIY. You could also use a scarf to do this 🙂
