Gifting when it comes to men can be impossible – they unfortunately don’t come equipped with a ‘things I love’ Pinterest board. In an effort to make the whole quagmire of what-should-I-get-him easier, I got together with my friends from Grana to put together a few ideas for you – things to make and things to buy your guy. Whether your guy happens to be your your boyfriend, husband, brother, father or that dude at work you’ve been hoping would ask you out, here are some ideas for you.
Gifts To Buy (And Make) Your Guy
Our picks:
Grana Classic White Shirt (also in Grey, Navy, Light Blue), Jeans (Slim, Slim Straight or Extra Slim), Denim Shirt, Chinos (shorts or long), Cashmere Sweater (V-Neck or Crew), Ray Ban sunglasses, The Horse watch, Penguin Classics books, Vintage records from the markets, J Crew sneakers, Native Union phone charger.
TO BUY
Buying wardrobe updates for a guy can be tricky, which is why this year I’ll probably decking all the men in my life out in Grana – affordable, timeless and the sort of thing you want your man to wear – nothing flashy just simple cuts and great fabrics. Not that I’m, like, dressing my boyfriend, but a few nice shirts go a long way. A classic white shirt, super wearable jeans, a navy cashmere sweater or even just a bunch of tees will go down a treat. The best thing is that they’re super well priced so you can afford to feel (and, um, appear) generous. Before I forget, grab yourself 10% off at Grana when you use the code ‘apasxgrana’. Other easy wardrobe updates? A watch, sunglasses or a braided leather belt are a great place to start and won’t cost you the earth. If you’re in the market for other gifts, how about some vintage records (and a player?!), a few books or some yummy but manly charcoal soap?
TO MAKE
If you’re feeling crafty, turns out this site is full of ideas for things to make your guy, all you need to do is tweak the project to suit his taste. This DIY camera strap would work just as well for a dude as it would for a lady, while we all know that every man needs a designated place to put his keys… If your guy is into things to wear, how about crafting him a leather bracelet? Swapping the nude leather for some black will take it into manville territory. If you think he’d like something for his man cave, this DIY skateboard shelf need not be just a place for showing off your Bobbi Brown addiction, it can be for, um, dude stuff too! And who doesn’t need a minimalist hat rack? If he’s an artsy kinda guy with lots of reading material, this DIY magazine holder could be perfect. Planning on some travel together next year? Craft him one of these journals. Go forth and make!
When we were putting together the items for these photos, I feel like we managed to create the perfect guy…. Naturally he dresses really well (in simple essentials that are well put together but not too try hard), he loves to read, he has a light interest in photography, he’s a fan of old music and he’s handy around the house. Is this any guy we actually know…? Probably not given that we strategically included no mention of a) golf b) video games and c) beer. A girl can dream!
This post is in collaboration with Grana.
I am all in when in comes to making something for him with my own hands: he doens´t need anything and he hates gift. Making soemthing myself is the only solution =) And that travel journal is such an easy and nice idea! Thank you!

This gift guide is wonderful because it doesn’t fit guys on a certain age group. Thanks, Geneva!
Thank you so much for this gift guide. Guys are so hard to shop for, but I definitely agree – almost every year, I try to help the guys in my life update their wardrobe with items that they’ll never really think to buy themselves, but that they’ll like nonetheless 🙂 Love the DIY ideas too! <3 Thank you! You're the best!

I love your suggestions! When it comes to clothing, buying accessories works best for me because it’s easier to get the right size 🙂 I think a nice woolen or cashmere scarf or a beanie can be a great gift, too!
And your DIY ideas are fab, I especially love the travel journal, I think I’m actually going to make a one for myself!

The sweater is gorgeous!
Beautiful shots and a great selection! I will definitely be buying vinyl for my boyfriend since he’s a major record collector, and probably a couple of books for the colder months.
