One of my favourite hacks to date!
I’ve been pondering the idea of a wavy mirror for ages, but have been wanting to find an easy way to do it. I love a very symmetrical look, and I knew it would be hard to get that if I cut a frame free hand, but one day I had a little brainwave! I was walking through Bunnings and stumbled upon some wooden wine racks that had the PERFECT wave. The wine rack came in pieces so it was easy to imagine using them to make something. Andddd they were on clearance for $8. And hence the idea for this wine rack was born!
What you need
- Wooden wine rack
- Rectangular mirror
- Super glue
- Staple gun
- Hand saw
- Clamp
How to
1
Lay out your mirror and overlay the wine rack on top. Mark the overlay where you will need to mitre the corner pieces so they fit together. Using a saw, cut the pieces with mitred edges.

Because of the notches in the wine rack I used, the corners didn't cleanly come together. So, I decided to trim them off and round them instead.

I then glued the mirror to the back of the frame. I actually had to cut the mirror to size using a glass cutter (with a few failed attempts!) so ideally you would use a mirror with the right size.
