Sevilla. Looking back it feels like some sort of beautiful daydream, but the colourfulĀ buildings, lunchtime Rioja and orange tree festooned streets was, in fact, real. I think it’s that Spanish light – so bright and clear that it makes everything seem extra special. Can you tell I’m excited to share with you my Seville Travel Guide? š
It’s funny, when we did our South of Spain road trip we visited many of the major cities in the region, and I kind of thought they would all be quite similar, but that was completely wrong.Ā Each city we visited had a completely different essence, and I think of them all Seville had to be my favourite. Not only did it have the traditional Spanish attractions of Tapas and Flamenco (and bull fighting, if you’re into that), but it also felt like a real, functioning city,Ā with a bustling student population and businesses going about their everyday. I couldn’t help but fall in love with those orange tree lined streets and pristine courtyards.Ā Can you blame me? In case you’re wondering, I wore The Simple Sandals the whole time I was in Seville!
Seville Travel Guide
Stay
We chose to stay in the cityās old town – which meant we could explore the cobbled streets of the Santa Cruz quarter on foot and by bike. We stayed at this really really lovely hotel (I searched for hours looking for just the right courtyard!).Ā Others I liked the look of? This oneĀ and this oneĀ seemed nice too. All with those stunning courtyards I so love.
See & Do
Visit the Alcazar if you’re yet to experience Spain’s Moorish architecture.
Visit the gorgeous Casa Pilatos – I especially loved the gardens.
Visit the Seville Cathedral (it’s a must do).
Head over and check out Plaza De Espana – so many beautiful tiles!
Explore theĀ fashion and art stores around theĀ Museo de Bellas Artes.
Wander the Barrio Santa Cruz (so pretty!, you’ll need to stop for wine).
Hire bikes from the Sevici bikes you see all around town, and go for a spin! We popped over the river to Triana for a ride around.
Go shopping for hats at Maquedano.
Eat & Drink
Have snacksĀ Ā and wine at El Rinconcillo – a beautiful, traditional tapas bar.
Check out the new restaurant El Pinton for perfect interiors and decent fish tacos!
Have a cocktail at the Hotel AlfonsoĀ courtyard.
Have dinner at Perro Viejo (I loved the design here!).
Indulge in some art and food at laid back Red House.
Have modern tapas at Ovejas Negras.
Grab a single origin coffee (Ben finds one in every city we go to) and breakfast at Torch Coffee Roasters.
A map of our Spanish Roadtrip. Read more about that here.
The beautiful shopfront of Maquedano.
Exploring Plaza Espana, wearing a Paddo to Palmy dress and The Simple Sandals in nude.
Our gorgeous hotel. Heart eyes!
A traditional Sevillian courtyard.
Imagining that the apartment overflowing with Monstera is mine.
Always wanting to pat the horses!
For all you typography addicts out there.
So much perfect symmetry in Seville. Wearing another Paddo to Palmy number and The Simple Sandals in Nude.
The old gypsy quarter of Triana sucked me in with those amazing facades.
Maximalism at its best.
Walking it out in the gardens…
I hope you enjoyed my Seville Travel Guide! Visiting Spain? Check out my Granada, Madrid, ToledoĀ andĀ BarcelonaĀ guides! Cordoba coming soon too!

It really is! I think to see the orange trees in full fruit Jan and Feb are the best times to go.
I fell head over heels for Seville! I visited with my friend for a short weekend during my year abroad in Spain and I wish I’d had a little longer there was so much we didn’t see! It had the most authentic Spanish feel that I experienced out of all the places I saw. I’m praying to be able to return soon!
Gorgeous photos.

Isn’t the architecture amazing??
I loved Seville so much. It was just the most inspiring city. I didn’t expect to love it so much. These hotel suggestions look great, if we ever get back I’ll have to give one a try. Ours was nice but not all that memorable.

Yes they were amazing, I really spent a long time trying to find the best places for our trip. They’re not the cheapest but when I travel with Ben I kind of want it to be a little more comfy than say when I travel with friends and we’re happy to be more casual. x
Geneva, your style is amazing! You’ve made me in to a Grana fan and now I’m in love with Paddo to Palmy! Do you mind sharing what size you typically wear in their dresses?
I usually take a size 1 in their styles – the 2 is a little too big for me I think. IN terms of generic sizing I’m an US 2/ AU 8.
Thank you!! I can’t wait to try them out!
No worries! I feel like most of their styles are pretty roomy too because they’re simple construction, so you should be ok. x
Looks like Seville will be on my bucket list… also what beautiful dresses you have! xx

Hola Geneva!
I’m wondering where Sevilla ranks on the cities you’ve visited in Spain? Because I get asked frequently on my top 5 favorite cities I’ve been to – and Sevilla is always included in that top 5 (Istanbul, Kyoto, Paris, & Chicago being the other 4).
Great read and pictures!
Thanks!

Without a doubt it is a beautiful city full of magic and good people where you can find perfect spots. Everything we have known here has been thanks to http://www.discoverandaluciaysevilla.com that prepared us a perfect tour for this unforgettable city.
Love your photographs Geneva.
Seville seems to be one of those cities that gives so much to so many; everyone gets something a little different ā we all find a reason to love this place! For us, constantly coming across evidence of Moorish history and architecture while we enjoyed our modern Spanish experience was the unexpected bonus… And everything just felt so chilled…
Cheers
