Travertine, one of my most favourite materials.
When I randomly threw together three $19 travertine pavers last year to make a side table, I really had no idea how far and wide this idea would travel, let alone the fact that it has seen the sale of travertine pavers skyrocket and various marketplaces turning up this design by the dozen. It makes sense though, it really is the easiest project I have ever done, it’s affordable but looks expensive, and is so so satisfying.

Travertine Side Table
The start of it all, this is such a simple design and one that’s incredibly easy to recreate. It cost a grand total of $56 to make this expensive looking design, and I was immediately blown away by how much it suits the studio. You can read the full tutorial here.
Broken Travertine Book Ends

Travertine Coffee Table
Lots of people wanted to see a coffee table version of the side table, and after working on a few different ideas I put together this one. I wanted to stay in line with the design of the original, and so I kept the T design but turned it around a little. You can read the full tutorial here.
Broken Travertine Shelves
Last but not least, another project in my broken travertine series, the shelves were a last minute idea that worked surprisingly well. I love that the shelves display that raw edge and have such an organic feel. See how to make them here.
