Why, hello there.
Wow. This feels amazing/scary.
After months working on it, I’m excited to share with you the new A Pair & A Spare. Improvements were long overdue, from the need to be more mobile friendly, have bigger text and create easier ways for you to discover new and old content. Lots of these things came out of the last survey so for those of you that got involved thank you.
Over time this site has evolved from purely fashion DIYs to creative how-to’s across the board, from redecorating your house (more on that soon!) to putting together the perfect cheese platter. These days our mantra in the studio is all about ‘Creativity Worth Sharing’. Essentially ideas and advice that make creativity easy … in crafting, decorating, travel or your kitchen. And, let’s be honest, the old site was letting us down. What we wanted was a new design that had lots of options for how to display tutorials and show DIY/travel content in an interesting way, annnnnnddd one that made it easier to find/discover what you need. For that reason we’ve added lots of new functions like sorting by DIY materials and destinations and a bigger interiors section.
There are quite a few changes (and yes, change can be scary) but know that we considered every single update for hours on end, with our end goal being to make it easy for you to feel (and get) more creative when you stop by. All in all I’m so excited for the next phase of this blog, the same but a) more and b) better. Which is in fact, pretty much what you told us you wanted. 🙂
I’m hoping you’ll enjoy coming on the next stage of this journey with us!
Giveaway
On to the fun part! To celebrate the launch of the new site, we’re giving away 4 pairs of The Simple Sandal to one lucky reader. That’s right, you get all the colours for yourself including tan, nude, black and leopard. You’ll have a style to match every single outfit you own! Essentially this is our way to say a big thank you for being part of this community – and encouraging creativity in everything that we do.

Ps. the rope belt is one of my favoourite projects to date, can’t wait for more fun crafts days in the studio!
Hello! I love your style but as a student I can’t afford all the wonderful clothes you wear. It would be great to see some more simple DIY fashion posts particularly focussing on how to make things from scratch (although I have very basic sewing skills so the easier the better).
hanks T
Perhaps basic sewing, but I’m still learning to sew so the simpler the better! 🙂
I don’t mind a little bit of sewing. 🙂
Thanks so much for your comment, so lovely to hear you’re a long time reader. Great to hear you want more fashion, more coming right up! Out of interest, do you like one inspired by designers or more original creations?
Hi! I have loved your site for a few years now and I think there used to be more content on vintage clothes and how to update them. I’d like to see more of that and also about how to give dinners or parties for friends that feel polished but simple 🙂
Thanks so much for your comment, I really appreciate it. I absolutely love vintage clothes! Do you mean before & after type projects or how to update them in a styling sense? Great idea re the dinners, I’m really enjoying moving into more entertaining content so that’s something we’ll definitely be getting into more! 🙂
Congratulations! I just hope that you are able to stay true and honest to yourself and blog to your heart’s content without having to worry about trends and other such things! All the best!
Thank you! Such a great point and I couldn’t agree more. It’s so so important to stay focused on what you do rather than trying to do what everyone else is doing – you do you! 🙂
Hi Geneva! Love your blog and really loving the new site! I would also like to see more content on vintage clothes and how to update them from outdated clothes to updated outfits. I would also love to see more of your studio and the before and afters if you haven’t done that already. Also absolutely love your sandals! – only wish I could afford to buy them so fingers crossed for me on this giveaway! 😉
Thanks for letting me know Zoe, great to hear! It’s so funny so many of you are wanting more vintage posts, I love that! By and large bloggers have moved away from wearing/styling vintage but not me, so I’m glad to hear you’re still into it too. x
Hi Geneva! I really love your DIYs and travel posts. I’ve noticed that you did some food post on Snapchat. Maybe you can do dome for the blog as well?
Ohhhh such a great idea! I’ve been really getting into healthy recipes lately (cauliflower ‘rice’ pilaf with grilled lamb and minted yogurt was a recent dinner) and absolutely need to start sharing them here. Thanks for the reminder.
I’d love to see more clothing projects from scratch- like the simple shorts you made or the silk cami. You’re clothes are always so gorgeous and I’d love to be able to recreate on a budget!
Thanks Ruby! Great to hear, we’re going to be doing more closet staples in the coming months, I think they;re a great place to start when you are learning! x
Your new site is amazing! I really love the button-down DIYs, the concept of taking something simple and easy to find and updating it into something really chic.
Me toooo Syd. They’re my fave. I always wonder if you guys get bored of those sorts of things but I’m so glad to hear you like them!
I am SO excited for home posts! I love your style and can’t wait to see how that translates into that area!
Oh thanks so much, I have been having such a great time decorating our tiny apartment. Plants plants and more plants, as well as lots of DIYs and a few nice pieces of art. Coming shortly. x
Congrats on the new site! My favourite posts are the ‘ask a patternmaker’ series – you’re presentation and layout really makes it easy to master those skills (forever thankful for the invisible zip one) 🙂
Great to hear you like those! I know they are quite niche but so so important. More coming soon! x
Ah!
So excited for your blog becoming more interactive! I am a long time reader and you’re such a style inspiration to me.
I would love to see more home decor DIY and gifting DIY! The paper stars with confetti inside is genius. Also, I know you’ve posted some in the past, but I’d love to see more posts on finding your passion, following it and what steps you took. It’d also be cool to include stories of those that you work with currently in your studio! Maybe it could be a mini series!
Thanks so much for tuning in, glad to hear you’re as excited about the direction as I am 🙂 I absolutely love the holidays because we can do so many fun decor and gifting ideas… Two coming this week in fact :). I’m also excited to do more content about how to feel more creative and how that relates to finding your passion – whether it’s a job or a hobby. And that is such a great idea about the girls in the studio, I’ve been wanting to introduce Annie to you guys (in house pattern maker/illustrator) for aggesss!
Thanks so much, I love travel content so much and cant wait to do more – do you like travel guides or travel tips more? x
Thanks so much, I have been doing soooooooo much home DIY recently, at my house (which is almost completely finished) and also having ideas for a new restaurant that Ben has been designing – so many decor ideas swirling around in my head right now. 🙂 The new format is going to make the so easy to follow too! x
Great to hear Tiffany, got lots coming and also lots of amazing trips planned for next yea!
Great to hear! Where did you go? Man I love Thailand, I think it’s time to go back. x
Great to hear! My fave subject in fact 🙂
My favourite are definitely the travel posts. I love that you combine travel with fashion 🙂
Thanks so much! I love travelling and wish I could do it all the time, but then I wouldn’t have much time for all the crafting that I love to do…. So a mix of both works well. Lots more content coming 🙂
I’d love to see more about simple ways to style/manage hair. Especially when in those humid climates, mine just get out of control. Yours always look so lovely.
Thanks for letting me know! Humidity is the hardest thing to manage when it comes to hair, but I guess I’ve got a few tricks up my sleeve 🙂
OMgggggggg what?!?! That is crazy! Haven’t heard a thing about that, so strange. Do you remember which photo/store?
Thanks so much, absolutely great idea. We have one or two things coming prior to Christmas, I hope they help you 🙂
Hi there! Very nice new page! I like DIY on home decor.
Thanks so much, great to hear 🙂
I would love to see more natural beauty DIY’s 🙂
sarahrachel85 at gmail dot com 😀
I love this idea, we have a few natural beauty projects coming in the next week or so 🙂
Love the home decor and DIY’s the most. Keep it up ladies – you are doing a great job! xx
Thank you so much, I just made an entryway project that is one of my faves in a while, coming soon! x
Yay – can’t wait! x
Looove your new site! It can be so much work to create/update a website so well done 🙂 I’d love to see some more sneaky peeks behind the scenes on your studio, intro’s to who else is at APAAS and those type of things! xx
Thanks so much, a few people have mentioned they would like to see more of the studio, and more than happy to oblige! 🙂
Thanks so much! xx
This is absolutely amazing! I’ve loved to see you grow so far, and am excited to see where you’ll go next and what great things you,ll accomplish! ?
You are so so sweet. This means so much. It’s been such an interesting journey – a roller coaster – so many things to learn but so so rewarding, and I couldn’t do it without you guys 🙂
The new site looks fantastic! Really enjoy reading all your posts. I’d like to see more decor DIYs – particularly party/entertaining decor DIYs, like the frozen ice buckets – perfect for the coming summer!
Thanks so much! I am sooooo getting into these types of posts – entertaining is something I feel has only just become a big focus for me so I’m excited to do more.
Cool, a new website! What I’d love to see is how you would style your DIY fashion in multiple ways. Thanks, and good luck with everything that is coming!
Thats a great idea! I guess we show a lot of projects but not often how to wear them in different outfits. Great idea! x
the site looks great! i’d love to see some food posts!
Great idea Karen. Food is actually such a big part of my life (and all of our lives in the studio) so it’s funny I dint share more of it here! x
Your blog is a great inspiration for my daily life and I must say I like all of your posts, although I love the DIY fashion posts.
Thanks so much, I’m so touched to hear that. It means a lot! Thanks for letting me know which posts you like the most. x
I have been reading your site for a while and I really enjoy your home decor and fashion DIYs. I have a sewing machine I have never used. Hopefully, one day, I will have the courage to do one of your tutorials. The new site looks great, too!
You definitely have to start using that lovely sewing machine. 2017?
I have been reading your blog for a few years now and check every single day and i share it with my sister too. You have a big talent, i love your fashion DIY’s as well as home decor. By the way, writing you from Central Asia, Kyrgyzstan, Bishkek city i know that far away! Just love everything you share.
Omg that is so amazing! I love how this site has enabled me to connect with amazing people all over the world, thank you for tuning in!

More DIY and plant posts!!! They are my absolute fave.
Wow, what a change! Definitely for the better 🙂
Love the new site look! It’s just perfect 🙂 l’m not missing a thing, but my favourite are the plants and home post. It’s been a long time reading you (from Spain), and your work inspires me every day. Thanks for sharing your talent 😉 xx
What a great giveaway! I have been wanting to order these in Leo forever, but I was not sure about the size and since it’s winter in Germany I thought I could take some more time to think about it 😉 i love all of your diy designs and interior tips! I love your style 🙂 best from Germany! So just stay as you are 🙂
I would love to see more fashion DIYs. > e-mail: niksboxblog@gmail.com; blog: http://www.niksbox.com
I love the new design – on the last post I had some trouble with finding comments, but I can see it is already sorted 🙂
What would I like to see more of… Hmmm… Maybe some summer pics? European wintertime sucks 🙁
Awesome! Well done Geneva! I’m a big fan of your DIY Fashion, especially your dresses, they are so simple and elegant, so I say more of that please! sharonmaloney77@gmail.com
Have been following for a while now, and looking forward to more awesome posts!
What I’d like to see more of… no-sew fashion DIY’s and how to go bra-less (i.e. how to manage pointy nips when wearing backless clothes).
Love the new site! Would love to see more travel guides and traveling content 😀
e-mail: valeria.kozakou@hotmail.com
Love the new site, you are so talented. I love everything you do DIY, so that’s my main source of inspiration here!
I have been following you for a long time from Spain, I like your site very much and would like to see more DIY.
beatrozze@gmail.com
What a beautiful new look for the website, Geneva! Amazing navigation and so in-tune with the direction that you are in and heading for. I’ve been reading your blog for years now, and it’s super fantastic that you send out newsletters of each post because honestly, it’s the only one I read (of all the others I have subscribed to!). When my man surprised me with your DIY Fashionista book, that had to be one major highlight! I’d love to see more DIY posts on anything because it keeps me inspired, and I love trying out the DIYs that you provide.
Hey Geneva love the update! I would to see more travel tips such as how to pack for xx or travel guides in general 🙂 I’ve saved your Japan guides for my trip next year!

The new site is an absolute cracker! Well done! Looking forward to more and more 🙂
I love the blog just as it is; the Simple Sandal outfits/combinations are my personal fave though, would love to see more of that 🙂 (and maybe a bit more about Australia every now and then)
(email: romina.georgara@gmail.com) Keep up the good work!!! xx
I love the new site. I am really into creative projects, more fashion or home-styling hacks, DIY projects would be great. you can reach me at
https://sewinprogress.com/
I’m absolutely loving the new site! It looks great on my tablet and is so much easier to read and navigate now. If there was one thing I’d love to see more of it’s fashion DIYs – it’s what originally brought me here and it’s still my absolute fave thing to read. Love your work x

Wow, it’s fantastic! I think i can navigate more easy now in any category. I would like to see more design-interior related posts. Ah, and more outfits, you are so stylish! Thank you for the giveaway as well. Helene.
I love your new site❤❤ It will definitely make it easier to navigate through it
I’d want to see more on travel because I’m always up for new adventure
Your new site has a beautiful streamlined appearance and is very easy to navigate. I love the interior inspiration posts. I’d love to see more “real” homes as inspiration. Ones that have evolved overtime and perhaps are not necessarily the grandest home on the block.
I’ve always loved your site, and the new layout looks amazing! I look to your blog for fashion and travel inspiration and the content for that is great, so some food inspiration would be a wonderful addition!
FANTASTIC, enjoying the new site. I would like to see more fashion DIYs pls. Great giveaway, thank you. Happy holidays.
Hello, new site looks is amazing! I will really love to see more and more and more and more fashion DIY.
Well done and thanks for the giveaway.
Cute site. Looking forward to more practical DIYs like this one

Really like the changes to your site! I’d like to see some floral arrangement posts. I always like the idea of having cut flowers around. But feel I don’t have a good grasp of how best to arrange different colours/textures. Perhaps you can do seasonal or monthly posts, say how best to arrange flowers that are in season.
It looks amazing!

Hi,
I love your DIY clothing projects. There is no other site that would provide for the same! I get so inspired every time I see something you have done, so that I would like to see (more) of 🙂
Saara
Hi Geneva, the new design looks fantastic. I’d love to see more decoration/furniture DIY posts. Your taste is impeccable and I already made many of the DIY’s throughout the years.
Hey! I’ve loved your site for years – it’s such an inspiration. My favourites are the local travel guides (especially the bits about where to find fabrics, DIY materials and classes – I went to the leather school in Florence after your suggestion and I loved it!), so I’d love to see more of those. Thanks for all the great posts!
Recently stumbled onto your blog a few months back and love everything you post and make!! I agree that I would love to see more posts related to food and recipes 🙂
Love your blog 😀 It would be great to see more formal wear DIYs!!
More fashion DIY please
I would love to see more fashion DIY’s. Love them. Wanda. wwords@vodamail.co.za
Love the new site lady. Would love to see more capsule wardrobe ideas and packing inspiration. Love your style and always need new ways of styling to open my eyes to my wardrobe.
The new site looks great, Geneva! Your blog is one of my favourites ? I’d also like to see more DIY projects, they’re great! ?
Beautiful new site Geneva! Yes it’s different but it’s lovely and I can see how this will work really well for reading from mobile and tablets. I really enjoy your content so it’s not easy to come up with something you should do more of, but I was thinking about an improvement perhaps? If on the travel posts, instead of just a list of recommendations in writing there there was also a little Google maps, I think that would be fantastic. This way if we’re going to the same destination we can just download it on our device and pop by. Best, Jesse.
how super exciting. I literally just relaunched my site (http://mediamarmalade.com/) as well after a whole year in the planning 🙂 It’s such a great feeling when it all goes live. Looking forward to exploring your new design now
Mel x

I’ve been following your for a couple of years, and since I’m subscribing to your newsletter, I’ve been following your journey, and it has been really inspiring for mine. I love all of your DIY, I’ve tried so much things and everytime with you instructions, it has been a success! I would love to see more Travel related guide! I’m a wanderer myself, and it’s a cute and fun way to learn more about your destinations! x
Hi Geneva & co. Well done and congrats on the upgrade and new plans.
I love all the inspirational stuff you put ip. Would love to see some more housey diys, so i am very excited about that. Maybe some textile things involving weaving, pom poms trims, indigo for eg. Lots of scope for hands on fun there.
Much lovely wishes for the future ventures ❤
Loving all the DIYs but especially the accessories and clothing projects that would be otherwise expensive to buy.
I would love to see a few fashion posts 🙂
Great post Geneva, thank you for all the time and effort you put in. Would love to see more fashion DIY.
I love the changes you’ve made! Everything looks so clean. I’d like to see more capsule wardrobe related posts and I’m always up for a quick DIY!
The new design of the page is really simple and beautiful! I hope to see more post about trips to other countries because that’s what I love the most from A Pair & A Spare. I specially loved the posts about Spain.
I’d love to see more DIY relating to clothing. That’ why I initially followed you. The site looks great and clean.
HI beautiful people, the new look is very classy and appealing!
I’d like your site for the sewing diy part but even for the closet organization, it was really inspiring in the past, so i’d like to see more of those kind of contents.
Thanks for the opportunity and congratulation for the upgrade!
Would love to see more no sew clothes DIYs!

My favourite post ever was the bag tutorial by jujumade. I have made several variations of it and use them every day!
I loved seeing your travels around Hong Kong!
Love the design! I especially love the (interior) DIY section. Making it yourself is so inexpensive 😀 Would love to hear about tips & tricks you picked up around the years (blogging & personal related). Always love to read those kinds of posts. x
I LOVE you blog and would really like to see more diys involving flowers and/or fitness tips/workout routines! 🙂
I want to win these sandals so badly. 🙂 I originally started reading because of your capsule wardrobe travel tips.l and I would love to see more of that and how to curate your wardrobe for you (which I know you’re doing a series on but I’d love to see it faster).
You have such an incredible blog! I love reading through your travel posts the most =o) and would love to see more posts about what you bring with, even though I know you already do that but they are always so interesting to read. It’s always fun to see what other people pack with them on trips =o)
http://dreamofadventures.blogspot.com/
So excited for the new site. I always love your travel tips and advice. catherine.roedel@gmail.com
Thank you Geneva for this beautiful blog! It is inspiring to have seen your growth and success! Love the new updates! I started following you from Pinterest – looking at DIY clothes makeovers. I’d love to see more on the goal setting and entrepreneur-oriented side of things 🙂 How do you set your goals? What does it look like when you achieve them? What does your most successful (relating to achieving your goals) day look like? And I would LOVE those sandals! Books (and shoes) are my church – ever thought of writing one?! Thank you again! xox from NH, USA
Love the new look! I am always interested in travel posts and packing tips. Super helpful!
Congrats on the new site! I love reading your travel tips for wherever you’re going (and was super appreciative of your Hong Kong info when I was there for the first time last month! I found your favorite porcelain shop thanks to your email response as well! Bought some goodies 🙂 I’d like to see more DIY clothes and jewelry options!
Your site looks lovely and I really like tutorials or how-tos. Thanks and if I win, I will share my sandals with my daughter. Thanks!
Love the update! Super clean and I love how it emphasizes images more! I love reading your travel recommendations but my favourite part must be all the DIYs, especially off the shoulder men’s shirt dress! So chic!

I love this site and want to enter to share the sandals with my granddaughter! We wear the same size and she is only 9 years old.
The new site looks beautiful! I would love to see more DIY videos! I especially love your leather clutch one!
I love how tidy and organized the new site looks!! I’ve always been a fan and must say my favorite posts are the clothes/accessory DIYs. You find a way of making easy yet stylish/elegant pieces. I would LOVE to see more of those 🙂
Cheers!
Can’t wait to explore the new site! I’d like to see more articles where you share your experiences on what it’s like working in the creative field and being an entrepreneur. Another thing I always love is designer inspired DIYs and party hosting DIYs. Thanks for this giveaway opportunity! <3
I love seeing fashion DIYs! I found your blog years ago when trying to find a good balette diy and have been in love since! Love love love the materials search in the new design xx
Angely
Love your new site!!! Not only is super easy to maneuver it’s still beautifully simple.
As for more content, I love the all in breakfast table scape you made while home with your family and the DIY bra. All simple ideas yet you manage to raise the bar! Kudos to you!!!
Absolutely love the new site, congrats on the big new moves! I started coming here for the fashion DIYs, but am always inspired by your travel guides. You have a knack for finding hidden, exciting things wherever you go. Keep on keepin on girl!
Thanks so much for this amazing blog!! I came here originally for the outfit posts (many years ago) and now love all the content. It would be great to have more posts about capsale wardrobes. 😀
Hi Geneva, I stumbled upon your blog a couple of years ago when I was searching for travel ideas and advice. I’ve been reading and enjoying your blog ever since! I really enjoy your clothing refashion projects and would like to see a party dress refashion for the coming Christmas holiday. -Elina from Washington state
Love this belt! I’d love to see more home DIY, like modifying simple looking items into something personalized and unique. For example, white planters that can be painted or plain drinking glasses that can be spray painted or maybe even etched (?!)
Your blog is by far one of my favorite in the whole world wide web – and I’m not saying this lightly. When it comes to my own blog, I’ll always aspire to make it more like yours in term of creativity (not restricting myself to one topic/tool/technique), simplicity and personal contribution.
With your design change you’re setting the bar high for my own re-design. As I find it challenging to showcase old projects that are just as relevant and giving a broader option to choose from (working with tags and categories in the menu now – not the most simple for my readers).
I keep my fingers crossed that I’ll get 4(!) pairs of your simple sandal. That would be awesome!
Such a good giveaway! I’d love to see more DIY stuff for the home as others have mentioned 🙂
Amazing! The site looks gorgeous. I have been admiring the sandals since you first released them and would be SO excited to win this giveaway.
Your site is absolutely stunning! I would love to hear what your new years resolutions are or whether you don’t do them! x
http://www.flareaforte.com
I would love to see more packing tips! Those are my favorite and so helpful 🙂 Keep up the good work!
Geneva your site such an inpsiration to me! I always come back for exciting coverage ranging from fashion/interiors DIY to travel guide. This blog is so one of a kind because you share the amazing works of DIY to all of us, which get us to stop buying, and use our hands to do wonders! I would love to see you write about books and music if it’s possible, monlthly book or playlist recommendation would be awesome!
Janie
I love everything you do on here so its tough to ask for anything that would make it “better”. I especially like your style DIY’s so I guess maybe more of those? Thanks for the shoes giveaway, you ROCK!!!
Love the blog and greatly appreciate the travel guides and packing lists. I would love to see simple/stylish solutions for hosting dinner parties (I have used the “Delicious (& Instagramable) Platter” idea so many times for savoury dessert trays – love it, thank you!).
I’d love to see more travel DIYs!
What a great giveaway! The sandals are so perfect. I would love to see more home DIYs!
Love the new site, would love to see more home decor DIYs!
I love your sense of style! I would love love to see more DIY for home decor. 🙂
Thanks Geneva for the content and the inspiration in travel, fashion and DIYs that you bring us! The simple sandal is so gorgeous and I’ve been eyeing at it since it came out, although never taking that step #hellostudentbudget ! I’d love to see more of your travel guides, I followed already some of them (How great are the Cinque Terre?!) and would love to see more!
I started reading your blog almost 4 years ago, when I bought my first sewing machine. You’re my inspiration, I love your DIY’s and I’ve tried most of them (not always succesful though :P)! Thank you for everything Geneva!
Love from Greece <3
P.S. I love those sandals
I love your traveling posts and the diy ones – they’re so inspiring! Just loved the news!

Love your website and live vicariously while reading your travel posts!! I loved your beauty post, and love anything to do with skincare and makeup! Love the new look btw!
I’m really enjoying the new redesign so far! Your blog has been a constant source of inspiration for me! I’d love to see more home decor DIYs – I absolutely loved your post about the DIY ladder wardrobe.
Love the DIY post and the travel post (especially what to take… its always difficult to narrow down what to take on holidays and these are always super helpful). Hope to see more of those in the future!
I love the new site!! Much easier to read and I am excited to try it out on the mobile version. This giveaway is too good not to enter – I would love to just keep seeing more fashion DIY’s, they are my favorite!
Julia
Seeing how you can transform clothes you no longer wear, into something else. Love those. It’s amazing what you can change and avoid throwing away! Amy x
I love the DIY posts!
I would love to learn more about cement projects (molds, techniques etc). As a young entrepreneur yourself, was there a point where your brand went from a hobby to a business and how did you reach that point?
Like everyone else I am loving the new site! I would love to see some posts about ethical/sustainable sourcing of materials for DIYs and maybe also while traveling (I remember a recent post in this vein about traveling and I really liked that).
The new site looks awesome! You continue to impress me with your creative DIYs and exciting travels. I really enjoy your tips/guide on organizing all different aspects of life. Thanks for all the you do, Geneva!
Love the new look of the blog! I read you blog religiously and love all of your content. I’m super passionate about making my space as cozy, beautiful and comfy as possible and would love to see more of your interior decorating DIYs and inspirations. Also, I would be thrilled to win the Simple Sandal Giveaway so I hope you keep me in mind.
Thank you thank you thank you – from Toronto, Canada
I love your creative mind and attitude. It definitely brightens my day! I know you mentioned more interior focused posts – and I would love to see that!! I often see articles that claim they have simple, cheap, creative solutions for small budgets and spaces and they always leave me a little disappointed. I’d love to see your take on self-decorating on small budgets and for small spaces!
Yay! I have to admit, every time I opened one of these posts before today, I immediately zoomed in 😀
Yay! These sandals are my fave!
So excited to see the new look of the blog! Congratulations Geneva! I have been following your blog for years and I love your fashion DIYs and travel guides but in particular your home/interior DIYs which I would love to see more of.
I would love to see more travel guides, and more “seasonal wardrobe” or “what to pack for __ vacation” type posts! The new website looks great 🙂
I love the posts where you are inspired by artisans around the world and show us how we can translate it into projects at home. Like the basket weaving – amazing!
Hello Geneva – I’ve been inspired by A Pair & A Spare for just over a year now and there are so many wonderful things that you share that I would love to learn more about!
Your travel guides help me dream and plan (which goes hand-in-hand with what to pack. Seriously, your 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 method has revolutionised my wardrobe and packing style!) and your home/interior posts (LOVED the coiled rope mat – we now have three).
Thanks for the beauty, style and inspiration – very much looking forward to more.

I would love to win the sandals, they are so beautiful! I’d love to see more jewelry tutorials and DIYs.
Hi Geneva – I love your blog because it inspires me to DIY the clothes I don’t like anymore instead of throwing them away, such a waste!! Also I love your travel posts, this summer I went to Madrid and I visited most of the sights you recommended 🙂 I really enjoyed the trip!
I would LOVE to win your sandals because they are so simple yet chic and you could wear them with anything. In the summer I basically live in sandals because they are comfy and your feet can breathe in them haha.
Keep up the good work and greetings from Belgium <3
I would love to see more “Before and After” DIYs! Buying secondhand clothes and transforming them into something new is a wonderful way of being environmentally friendly. It is also such a great way to inspire creativity when working with something that already has a unique identity! I love everything you do and I look forwards to reading your blog far into the future.
Hi Geneva, thank you for bringing so much beauty and simplicity into the world. I look forward to reading all your posts from fashion DIY’s, Travel guides to packing and beauty guides. They’re all informative, easy to read and entertaining.
I would love to see more posts on home decor and or food (healthy, yummy for the tummy foods).
Not sure where to mention this but …on reading todays blog post, on my i-pad (which is where I do most of my reading) the writing and just basic set-up of the site seemed a bit out of sorts ..I haven’t had this happen before.
Great giveaway! I’d love to see more DIY clothes
Thank you very much Geneva for this great opportunity. I’ve been following you for several years now and I enjoy your fresh looking website. As said in one of your survey I took part in some times ago, if anything I’d love to read more about self-discipline, time management, career paths, etc. as I always find your posts on theses topics incredibly helpful. Many thanks in advance. Your leather sandals are gorgeous, exactly the type I’ve looking for for a couple of years without being successful at all to date, so fingers crossed I’ll have a chance to try yours on! Agathe agathe.ribereaugayon@gmail.com
Hi! Your blog is amazing! It’s one of the first pages I check every morning for fun and creative inspiration to start the day! I love the updates! Very pretty! I personally love the sewing diys and am trying your shorts one before heading to Costa Rica fro xmas but sewing is intimidating and there are a lot of uninteresting YouTube video tutorials… you don’t have to do them yourself by any means but any chance you have a sewing how to channel that you like and would recommend for beginners???
I would like to see more of the different fashion styles (outfits) in different countries, also the DIY items that were inexpensive and doable at the same time. I really liked how you gave us a sneak peek into the clothing that you brought with when you travel, as well as the essentials. It would be great if you can reply comments at times, so that readers can listen to what you have to say as well 🙂
I ADORE YOUR NEW DESIGN!!! (I’ve had a penchant for pretty websites, since becoming interested in web design). Also I would love to see some posts, on starting with a sew machine. I just got my first one, and some posts about getting started would be wonderful, and super helpful.
Thank you Geneva and your team for posting such great content that is so inspiring and creative! If I could see more of something, it would just be everything you guys do! So instead (I reckon this could be a great extension from your blog) if you could publish a book. Whether it be filled with DIYs, recipes, travel guides, living and style inspiration/advice, it would be awesome to chill and read a book rather than be on the internet (not saying the internet’s bad! it’s just nice to have a break from it at times!) Thank you for all you guys do 🙂 Sending all my love from NZ! xx
Hi, I love your blog. I really like the fashion DIYs, they’re so inspiring. I’d love to see more of the fashion DIYs on how to change existing garments into something new, like the mens shirt into an off the shoulder dress. I made a few off the shoulder tops from mens shirts after reading that post. Great work xx Also love the design of the sandals.
I always love the sewing diys.
Oh my gosh, the new website is GORGEOUS!!! Congrats!
I would love to see more posts about new ways to wear old pieces in your closet. Also love no-sew DIY’s!
Well, I dunno. I really like your DIYs and I think you post a lot of them, so it’s okay about that. But your travel posts are amazing too! anyway, thank you (:
I love your new site now! It’s simple yet elegant. I see that you’ve transformed it to be mobile friendly and that is beneficial for us your readers who’s always following you. Thank you, Geneva, for inspiring me this year. I found you on Pinterest btw and from then on I followed every posts. I would love to see vlogs soon. I want to see you on action in your studio. More power on you and your team! You inspire one single mom here in the Philippines! xx
I would love to see more information about ethical and organic fashion. Thanks!
I would love to see more fashion DIY projects, especially more jewelry!
I would love to see more DIYs – accessories, bages etc with leather! They always look so pretty yet functional. Or perhaps posts on how you source these materials. I’m from NZ and its difficult to find items like this!
Wow! Amazing new design, congratulations!
I really love it and think your readers will love it, too.
I don’t know which content I would like to see more of, since I think this is a great blog just because it has a huge variety of posts! Maybe… more deco ideas?
Thanks for letting us give our opinions and for this giveaway!
The new layout is great! I’d love to see more general day-to-day outfit posts and dyi sewing. And thank you for posting travel advice, I’ve used them quite a bit recently. In particular your Thailand advice!
Thank you for all your hard work, Geneva@ And for doing the contest. I do love those sandals so much, and live in a very sandal-friendly place myself. I would love to see you continue the posts on how to create “recycled” clothing–taking something old and making something entirely new and cool.
Thank you, Geneva and the rest at A Pair and A Spare all of you post serve as inspiration for me in my day to day life. As a creative girl your blogs are no less than a DIY utopia. You have even given me inspiration in my school work as i am currently undertaking the elective product design and technology. Please keep being awesome and thank you again.
From one of your biggest admirers, you are my role model.
Thank you,
Bonnie
I would like to see more easy DIY accessories.
Hi Geneva, you are my absolute favourite blogger and I always feel inspired after visiting your page (which is very frequent hahah)<3 Some topics I'd like to see would be: Advice you'd give to your uni/college self, or how to wear bralettes! Don't ever stop blogging! Love from Canada
I’m grateful that I found your beautiful and inspiring blog. I really like your DIY and I hope to see more of it, especially about the wardrobe rehab and jewelry DIY 🙂
Lots of love from Indonesia <3
Congratulations for the new blog!! I just love it and all what you do! I would like to see more fashion diy, with old clothes or something like that, to reuse and recycling and also diy for home 🙂
I’m so excited that the site is growing! I am always happy to see more travel recommendations, maybe they could be added to by including something like a custom Google map that shows everywhere you went. Those are always helpful if planning a trip.
Thank you for working so hard on your blog! Your content is so creative and original, it’s always a pleasure to read. A lot of your posts inspire my own projects. My favorites are fashion and interior decorating DIY’s. I would love to see more photography/posing for photo tips because all of your pictures look perfect!
Congratulations on the new website! Would love to see post on packing toiletries for travel, efficiently, of course. Also, would love another style post on skirts, the latest trends and wardrobe must-haves according to you.
Love the new layout, super easy to navigate and brings about some of the older posts to inspire new creations! I love how the DIYs are super easy to recreate, my favorite are the different clothing DIYs but I love recreating some of the home pieces with my mum- we are working on the rope rug tutorial at the moment! I would love to see more blogging related articles and how-tos for photography, blogging etc! I also really enjoy your beauty posts and would enjoy some more of that as well. Much love, Krupa- Kenya xx
Hi Geneva !
First of all, congratulations for the new site-web! amazing and useful. I always follow, read, and re-read your post for how to pack…because I travel a lot ! and I would like to thank you very much. I love as well your post of each city, and I read them before travel, I love your “undescovered” little corners (even I used once to visit my home town: Madrid !! haha). And, I always try to follow your DIYs but I have some problems: 1. sometimes I don´t know were to find the materials, and i don´t have a sewig machine!! (I´m thinking about getting one!) but, anyway I love trying to do everything you propossed. And I love the pictures of your site, all your courage, your projects, and the honesty and natural way of writting.
So…I would love to see in the next posts (But don´t worry, I´ll be very patien and happy to see all the ideas that in the 267 comments they have give you so far!! haha):
1-Some super easy DIY (my favorites are for clothing and home decoration) with some ideas of were to get the materials for example, and if possible more with out sewing machine.
2-More and more about travel, anything related to that topic will be great. Nowdays I´m living in Brussels (Belgium), and even it´s not Paris, it has its “charm”. So, you are “officialy” invited to visit us, and I´ll show you the little secrets of the city, and its very close to Paris and other lovely cities. So I propousse you the “European trip” fo 2017 !! Ambers also its know as a capital of fashion for creative and independent designers thet are beging and making different things.
and I think this is it for the momment, sorry of my spelling mistakes in english. I wish you all the luck of the world and I wanted to thank you for inspiring me in my own projects !! Thank you!
Iciar
ps: And of course, I´m a hugge fan of your simple sandals!! so here are my contact details ! ivillacieros@gmail.com

Love this new look website which makes even more of your gorgeous photos! I love this blog and I do mini DIYs myself. This new look is amazing and I really really like it! I always had a hard time viewing the old blog on mobile. It’s hard to comment on what I want to see more of, since this blog is everything for me, but perhaps some downloadables? Like what to bring when packing or offline mini guides I can keep in my phone.
This place looks awesome! Congrats Geneva! I have been following you since you did that DIY “pony” hair on the back pumps. As of your quesition, I think I would like to see more decor ❤️

Hi Geneva! I’m Sol, from Argentina. I’m completely in love with your blog since I discovered it a couple of years ago. Every time I get an email about a new post I go straight to it, no matter what I’m doing.
It would be really great if you could post some sort of guide or steps to follow for starting a business, like what do you need to focus on or how to set realistic goals. That would be awesome and very helpful for some of us!
P.S.: your style has really helped me to create my own! You are a great source of inspiration to me!! 🙂
Thank you!!
xoxo, Sol :*

The new site looks SO good! I’ve loved a lot of the DIYs on here, but that belt is the one I attempted (and succeeded!). Love it! I don’t have a good space for a sewing machine in my little apartment, so I’d love to see more accessory DIYs so that I can get my fix until I have a larger space of my own!

I like your DIY’s that are upcycles (I’m a greenie from way back) i.e. Converting thrifted items, such as the one denim skirt into two, or the skateboard shelf.
I’m also a big fan of your traditional crafts posts. These align with what I refer to as “Soulful Souvenirs” on my blog, and I l often share your posts on my social channels.

I love your posts on the wardrobe rehab, I am in badly need of one, however I still find I have difficulties in letting things go. So I would like to see more posts on that topic. I always wondered what you wear under those silk tops and dresses so would like to see an article on that too.

Greetings from Singapore!
Would love to see more upcycling ideas and diy accessories – that was what attracted me to apairandaspare many years back and got me inspired to buy a sewing machine and your DIY Fashionista book!
Such ideas are not only environmentally-friendly (reuse, reduce, recycle), but also allows one to add pizzazz to what would have been a plain outfit/bag/shoe.
My favourite DIYS have been the circle skirt and the bejewelled plastic clutch! They were made and worn many times and always received compliments!
I LOVE the update – especially the light gray headers/titles behind the text! Such a cool and novel design. And I’d especially love to see more fashion DIYs- that’s why I originally started reading your blog years ago!
Hello from Chicago 🙂 I stumbled on your site while looking up travel guides- and I absolutely love your guides. They are the perfect balance of recommendations + gorgeous photos. I would love to see more 🙂

Need to see more upcycling DIY (things we already have and what we can do to optimize) because it’s quite difficult to get awesome furnitures like yours.

I’d like to see more minimalism ideas… I am a huge Diogenes (that’s what is called here in Chile, “el mal de Diogenes” meaning someone who tends to accumulate stuff, like really accumulate), so I am trying to let go and organise my house.
I’d love to win all 4 of them, & if I win I’ll declutter my closet, and give away some shoes 🙂
So cute! I love your blog!!

Hi Geneva, thanks for don’t take us for granted, Refurbished jeans are a very in item right now, but as ridiculous as it sounds, the new old pair are very expensive, can you do some DIY series about how to make the main new alterations used in order to get refurbished fixed jeans from thriftted or older ones?
Greetings from Mexico
