If I thought for even one minute that I wouldn’t lose my mind doing a new dollhouse project, I was completely wrong!

Ikea Flisat Dollhouse Renovation – what I did!
- First, I used this printable project planner to decide what I wanted in the house. Girl math girl construction girl does whatever she wants!
- Then I cut out some windows. Not really necessary but windows just give it that extra something.
- I added Timber siding and a shingle roof to give it that real house vibes was next, and then it was time to get into the wallpaper. Wallpaper is like a cute outfit for a dollhouse so I would never skip it (it’s actually hard to find good wallpaper so I’ve included a bunch of my picks in the course).
- I made all the floors from scratch, experimenting with a bunch of new techniques including herringbone timber and timber tiles.
- To finish it all off I made all the furniture. The bed, the kitchen, this sofa and even a stone fireplace and the kitchen from scratch (ahem, you’ll find plans for everything in the course).
Ikea Dollhouse Hack Reveal!
On the outside there’s painted pink timber siding, a gorgeous stained shingle roof, window trim and climbing floral vines. Inside there’s the bedroom with mustard floral wallpaper, timber herringbone floors and yellow board and batten. There’s even a tiny window box seating and a standing mirror!
Over to the bathroom there’s checkered tile floors, green floral wallpaper, board and batten and a ceramic bathroom set.
Upstairs in the living room there’s the cutest gingham sofa and I went digging in the recycling bin for materials to make the fireplace. There’s also a seriously cute standing bookshelf.
Finally, my favourite room in the house – the kitchen. Modelled on my fave kitchen in the world there’s a big red workbench, a blue kitchen with a tiled red and white back splash. And there we have it, the basic Ikea dollhouse proved to be no match for my ability to overthink and obsess about tiny things!
