I’m definitely feeling all the dried flowers this Christmas! But can you blame me?
A few days ago I shared my simply ring wreaths, which are perfect to use for so many different things. However, I knew I wanted to do something a bit more sturdy for the front door.
You need
- A cane wreath (this one is from Spotlight)
- Dried flowers including cotton and bunny tails
- One small dried palm frond
- Gold Florists wire
- Scissors
How to
The best thing about the care wreath is that the weaving of the cane means you can slot the stems of the flowers into it and weave them in and not have to attach them with florists wire. This makes for an overall more elegant look than some other wreath bases.
-
1. Start with your wreath base on a flat surface.

2. Begin with your largest stems. For me that was the palm frond. Weave it in and around a few times.

Then, add some small detailed stems like bunny tails.

To build up the design, I suggest that you use the florists wire to wire together some small bunches of dried flowers.

What I love most about this project is that it’s one that you won’t need to take down immediately after Christmas, you may even want to keep it up for good!
