Every DIY-er’s dream
I’ve been a big fan of Ouchflower for some time now, ever since I discovered Pippa’s tasseled pieces on pinterest and tracked down her website. I was immediately taken with the bright colours and intricate knots, her dipped rope tassels and spiralled macrame had me immediately dreaming of beach shacks and long laid back days.
For me, designs like these are so much more than simply craft, they’re pieces of artwork. Every DIYers dream – to have craft that belongs in a gallery! A little while ago Pippa offered to show me how she creates her beautiful macrame dreamers, and you know I jumped at the chance to see her at work.
You Need
1
Using a 40mm ring, I larks head knot the twine onto the ring and then create the spiral know work using a half knot twist.
3
More twine is then larks headed all the way around on the 175mm ring (making it look like a very attractive sea creature), at this point there is a lot of twine to wrangle!
See, I told you she was a bonafide artist. After seeing these beautiful designs I feel like I need to go to knotting school! Put that on my craft bucket list.
Make sure you check back in with Pippa’s store for her new products.

Hi, I love the dreamcatcher that you’ve shown here. Could you tell me what brand and size macrame cord that you used? Thanks, Lois
I was so happy to see Macrame. I did some of this a llong time ago and this proves that you can always depend on art like this staying around forever. You made some lovely pieces.

Please help; I’ve almost finished with my first wheel. I don’t know how to tie off the top and sides. I’m very new to macrame and I can not find anywhere how to tie off these lovely pieces. It’s been three weeks sitting begging to be hung up and I’m stuck.
Thank you for any and all assistance.

Can you tell me how I finish around the outside of the hoop please.
I think the way the last ring is done by gluing the knots and weaving a new piece of twine around the entire ring. I am going to attempt to make this in the near future. I will try to remember to measure my twine. This is an absolutely beautiful creation!
Several months ago I sent an email explaining that I was new, I requested the particulars in making the georgous catcher, no one ever replied. I would love to make this, would someone please respond about the lengths and short ties? Thanks

Would love to make the three ring macrame dreamer. How much cord did you use and what length did you cut the cords?
Where do you find the metal rings? I’ve been looking all over the internet for them and haven’t had much success. Thanks!
here’s where I buy all my rings.

amazon has them…. search for macrame cord and the rings popped up on my feed.
Hobby Lobby has them
I would love the challenge of doing this project, but I can not find what the length of the cord should be. Can you help me out? Also with out converting what are the rings in inches?
Thanks
Gary

This wins the award for most vague tutorial ever. First off, in the extremely basic supply list, it says two metal rings. The elusive directions call for three. At no point does it say how long each piece of twine should be cut, how the outer ring is finished, the tassel, none of the above. And despite numerous comments requesting this information, no answers have been given. How very disappointing. I’d love to make this but…
There are 3 rings there that are used, the largest on the outside, a middle ring and then the very small inside ring.
My next adventure in the past craft.
My flash from the past.
What size or thickness is the twine my twine Is too thin I have to get the right size to start this..
is there a macrame instruction book I could buy with the step by step instrctions to make your rouns wall hanging?
Hi!
I’m trying to make this for a baby shower present and I have a quick question about part of it. What knot/how do you tie around the final ring? Like how do you fill in the final ring?
Thanks!
Margaret
As a general rule of thumb, allow 4 to 5 times the length of the finished macrame piece to cut your twine. So, place the rings on the floor and measure the distance between the outside of the smallest ring to the outside of the largest. Then, multiply by 5 to be safe (allowing length for any tassels). The outer ring is finished in square knots like you would a bracelet using the ring as your foundation string. Hope that all makes sense.
