Ok so in the past couple of months I’ve found myself thinking and planning home DIY projects more than ever – and who doesn’t love a chalkboard frame? My friends over at Ela Hawke Vintage recently made this gorgeous blackboard frame for their popup vintage market. Cuteness! I spied these pics on instagram and couldn’t help but share with you!
This is such a simple project. Take a decorative frame, spraypaint it your chosen colour (white, neon, the choice is yours!), and then paint the backboard with a few coats of chalkboard paint. Wait for it to dry, fit together and voila! Done-zo!

This is a great project cause chalk board paint dries so fast… you can be up and running in no time.
Little tip: the paint cures better if when it’s just dry you rub the side of a piece of chalk all over the surface then wipe it off with a slightly damp cloth. Somehow that makes the board erase better for the rest of its life.

Oh! So perfect! And it would be great on a wall instead of having a picture inside.
Beautiful! The quote is one of my favourite and I love the frame which is the hardest part for me of this DIY. I don’t think I will be able to find a cheap frame like this.
This one amazing DIY!

Lately, I’ve been getting so excited about DIY ideas, so much so that I have even created a DIY board on pinterest, there must be something incredibly satisfying about doing something completely by yourself! I am going to try and attempt at least one a week, this DIY has now been added to my list 🙂 xx

I have that frame! It was from IKEA! 🙂 I left it black and got a piece of glass cut into it for a mirror. I might have to paint it cream now after seeing this!
Very simple and very lovely indeed! 😉
