Planning on stocking up on kids craft supplies? Here’s a few ideas for you.
Even though my hometown has opened up significantly since isolation, I have to say we’re still staying in A LOT. That means plenty of craft time with Frankie and my niece Emmie, and ample time to go through all the craft supplies in the house. It’s time to stock up again! A few of you have asked me in the past for a list of my favourite craft supplies so I thought I would share them with you, in case you’re thinking of getting a few new ones too.
From Your House
You know that I LOVE to shop my own closet (metaphorically) when it comes to making kids projects, and am known for hoarding an almost silly amount of recyclables for Frankie to get creative with. One man’s trash is another woman’s craft supplies, so the saying goes right? A few things I like to use include:
- Egg cartons
- Cardboard
- Milk bottles and cartons
- Bottle tops
- Boxes
- String
- Newspaper
- Craft paper
- Packaging
- Buttons
- Paper plates
- Straws
From the Craft Store
For most of the supplies I have bought I have gone to either Spotlight, Officeworks or Bunnings. I also find that local little dollar stores often have really great kids supplies that can be more affordable than the bigger box stores. You can of course buy all of these online too!
- Air Dry / Polymer Ā Clay
- Butchers Paper
- Clothes Pegs
- Cotton Balls
- Coloured Paper
- Crayola washable markers
- Gold Paper Fasteners
- Loose Feathers
- Felt pieces
- Glue Stick
- Googly Eyes
- Hole Punch
- Paint (washable and acrylic)
- Pipe Cleaners
- PVA Glue
- Pom Poms
- Popsicle Sticks
- Kids Safe Scissors
- Stickers
- Tape
- Yarn
By the way, in case you’re wondering, we’re a no glitter household! So far at least.
